Fundamental techniques to collect, analyse and interpret cost and management information for business decisions.
The FIA Management Information (MA1) course introduces students to the fundamental techniques used to collect, analyse and interpret financial and cost information for effective business planning and decision-making. It provides a practical foundation in management accounting and how financial information supports managers in controlling resources and improving performance.
Students learn how costs are identified, classified and analysed, how different costing approaches determine the cost of products and services, and develop an understanding of budgeting, planning, cost control and the preparation of useful management information.
Rather than focusing only on calculations, the course helps students understand how management-accounting information is produced and used in real business situations — a strong foundation for more advanced FIA and ACCA studies.
